SICAD, ONE OF THE BEST PRACTICES

To spur genuine development from the grassroots level thru the convergence in the services delivery of various government agencies and private institutions, the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro, under the administration of Governor Alfonso V. Umali, Jr. launched in 2011 the Strategic Intervention and Community-Focused Action Towards Development (SICAD). Since then, thousands of Mindoreños have benefitted from the development programs delivered to far-flung communities that require needed interventions from concerned agencies. Wide-scope of services are rendered which include development, health, livelihood, environmental and anti-poverty programs and projects such as Sustainable Livelihood Projects, Local and Regional Economic Development (LRED) Projects and provision of assistance, distribution of agri-fishery implements, mangrove reforestation projects and tree-planting. SICAD is also focused in the implementation of activities on Climate Change Adaptation, Community Mobilization through Transformative Education, Building Teams and Communities through Transformative Leadership, and other development programs are conducted. Other SICAD expansion areas are medical-dental missions, soup kitchen, PhilHealth enrollment and cards distributions, one-stop shop mobile registrations. are the provision of animal treatment and vaccinations, tax collection assessment, legal services, sports paraphernalia and other development programs.
