Province of Cebu
The province of Cebu is a first class province, in fact one of the most developed areas in the Philippines as it boasts of Cebu city as a center of commerce, trade, industry and education in the larger region of the Visayas. Negros Island, and the other island provinces of Leyte and Bohol surround Cebu. Hon. Governor Hilario P. Davide III is currently in his first term as the province’s Chief Executive.
Like most of the provinces, Cebu province still has agriculture as an industry producing traditional necessities of the country like rice, corn, legumes, various fruits, and also root crops. The rich land in the province also produces ornamental plants, coffee, cacao and spices. The province also has other major industries to boast of. These include industrial parts assembly, food processing, furniture making, stonecraft, garments, fashion accessories, gifts, toys and housewares, electrical equipment manufacturing, as well as coal and dolomite mining. It is also a favorite destination for tourists.
