BEYOND PROJECT I4J
January 9, 2017
Project I4J, the three-year project co-funded by the European Union and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung is on its final year of implementation extending until March 2017.
Much had been accomplished – more than 60 LGUs represented by the Local Chief Executive signed the Integrity Pledge, the business sector and civil society representatives have committed to work with the LGUs in every locality, integrity standards have been introduced in each of the 60 LGUs, each LGU assessed their structures and procedures, integrity mechanisms have been proposed and integrity circles have been established with an Executive Order or Council Resolution, among others.
Nevertheless, a lot more has to be done. The number of signatories is but a drop in the bucket in the sea of LGUs in the country. Realizing that Project I4J has to continue beyond December 2016, the Integrity Circles Representatives with the Project I4J Consortium
established the Philippine Local Government Integrity Circles (LoGIC) Network. Last October 28, 2016, the LoGIC Network was formed to serve as a platform for systemic best practice exchange on integrity and job promotion, for the establishment of integrity and business promotion mechanisms as well as integrity circles in more LGUs, and to partner more closely with National Government.
Activities lined up for the first quarter of 2017 of LoGIC are a series of LGU-Business Forum in CDO, Iloilo and Manila. The I4J Website’s Forum section will help the Network to collaborate. All Integrity Circle representatives are encouraged to create an account in the Forum.
